Why Choose TJC’s 8-Week Courses?

Most TJC students are attending college with a specific academic and/or occupational goal in mind. This could be a new career, job promotion, achieving a personal goal, or even setting an example for their children or other family members.

To help students achieve any of these goals, TJC offers 8-week accelerated courses.

What to expect

  • Complete the same amount of coursework as you would in a 16-week course, but in half the time
  • Fewer classes overlapping
  • Frequent interaction with classmates and instructors

The benefits

  • Life is less disrupted because you have full-time responsibilities. Maybe you work part or full time, or you’re raising children or caring for family members. Our 8-week classes minimize the impact on your life over a shorter period of time.
  • Complete your degree requirements more quickly
  • Utilize federal financial aid and many other financial assistance opportunities
  • Quickly complete courses that may be less difficult for you
  • Courses fit around your full semester schedule
  • Focus on fewer courses at one time while remaining a full-time student
  • Enjoy the challenge of being a self-motivated learner
  • Choose between face-to-face or online classes
  • Develop new study habits and learn how to successfully balance college and life commitments
  • The opportunity to still enroll in the middle of the semester and not have to delay starting classes

If any of these points apply, then 8-week classes might be a great fit for you. For more information, please reach out to Academic Advising for assistance at 903-510-3287 or TJCAdvising@tjc.edu today!
