Quarantine is running long these days, and we’re all looking for new things to do! Sometimes, after a daze of letting Netflix play the next episode (four times in a row) you just need to jump up and do something! Whether you’re looking to prep for class next semester, for some fun self-care ideas, or are just missing your friends, here’s a few ideas of things you can do right now.
Get ready for the next semester!
- Have a zoom meeting with your TJC advisor
- Come try out the parking lot wifi in lots S4, F3, and F5!
- Register for next semester at TJC!
- Join a TJC Connect LIVE to find out more about admissions, career planning, financial aid, scholarships, and Presidential Honors!
- Check out the online library database for some new reading material
Check-in on your people
- Call your grandparents and check in! Bonus: ask them to tell you a story.
- Write a letter (and send it)
- Start a box for donations (think: food pantry or clothing for stores like Goodwill or Hangers of Hope!)
- Post a throwback pic of life before social distancing with your TJC friends! Tag us @TJCApaches
- Work on a Mother’s Day gift or card!
- Call a friend
- Get your quarantine crew together for a game—online or in-person (if you’re already living with them!)
Practice self-care
- Try a new audio or Ebook for free using Overdrive from the TJC Vaughn Library!
- Organize one space. Start little—organize your desk or bathroom counter or kitchen table.
- Go for a walk
- Make some art! Try drawing with pencil and paper or crafting something with what you have on hand!
- Pick up an old talent—yo-yo? Juggling? Piano?
- Listen to a podcast
- Do a load of laundry
- Make your bed
- Write down 5 things you’re grateful for
- Do an assignment that you’ve been procrastinating
- Make a new meal
- Make a list of movies you’ve been wanting to watch
- Do a 7-minute workout (click here for the app!)
We miss you on campus! Stay safe and remember that this won’t last forever, but while it does you can still have some fun!
