I joined Chiefs because they had so much of an impact on my introduction to college during New Student Orientation. I wanted to make the same impact for other students! I’m currently a sophomore at TJC and a theatre major. Apache Chiefs as an organization has done so much for me, and I can’t wait to be there for you in that same way at Orientation!
You might be wondering, “What is Orientation all about?”
Orientation helps you get a good idea of what college is going to be like.
You will have the ability to meet other students who are also new to TJC, which puts you right into social circles from the get-go. You’re not alone in this, and Orientation helps you build a strong community of friends that you’ll look forward to seeing again once the semester starts! If I hadn’t gone to Orientation, I wouldn’t have made the friends I have today, so I highly encourage you to go!
Orientation helps you get your class schedule set up—which is the most important thing in college.
Don’t be like me and wait till the last minute and have scraps! At Orientation, we’ll help you make a class schedule that fits you as a person and give you the inside scoop on the best times. We’re always here to help and you can count on us to make sure you get the most of your class schedule.
Orientation is FUN!
It’s all about getting you pumped and excited for college and we make sure to give you different activities to get your blood pumping. You only get to go to Orientation so many times in your life, so I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on it! We want you guys to understand that college isn’t all about work but it’s also about making memories, and Orientation will be one of those memories!
