Complete your core with geography!

Do you enjoy discovering new aspects of the world? If so, geography may be a course for you!

Here at TJC, we offer two Geography courses that can help satisfy your curiosity about the environment that surrounds you.

Geography is more than just studying the Earth’s surface. It helps to identify relationships among people and their physical or social environments. And answering the questions of where, but also more importantly why such relationships occur.

If you are more interested in landscapes and how they were formed, then physical geography (GEOG 1301) is for you! You will examine the physical features of the Earth’s surface and the natural process that brought it to that point. All while observing how these processes impacted human activities over the course of time.

More interested in the human aspect of geography? Then, world regional geography (GEOG 1303) may suit you better! You will learn about the colorful history of trade, economic development, conflict and globalization in the world’s major regions. While analyzing these region’s defining physical, social, political, and cultural features.

These classes will help to open your eyes to not only the magnificent landscape of the world but how it has also impacted society throughout time.

Go ahead and register for a geography class now to learn more on how our ever-changing environment effects human behavior.

P.S. GEOG 1303 also serves as a Core Curriculum course in the Social and Behavioral Sciences component.
