5 Fun Ways to Stay Connected During COVID-19

If we aren’t careful, social distance can start to feel more like social isolation. Without the normal routine of seeing our best friends face-to-face, it can be challenging to connect over anything except the feeling of being displaced. It’s easy to keep talking about what we miss, and what life “should look like” right now, but instead of getting caught up in that, go make some new memories!

COVID-19 has turned most relationships into long-distance ones, so Facetime or Zoom call a friend and “social distance” while still having some fun!

1. Set up a coffee date

Caffeine is a huge part of the college experience. Studying is just more fun in a cute coffee shop with an iced latte and some friends. Bring the experience home by trying out the TikTok coffee recipe (Starbucks who?) or play it safe with brewed coffee. Video call your study group, or just have a regular coffee date with a friend over Facetime.

2. Indulge your artsy side

Whip up a makeshift Pinot’s Palate with whatever art materials you have on hand and an easy painting tutorial. Go through the tutorial together with a friend over Facetime or Zoom. Who knows, maybe you are an undiscovered Van Gogh!

3. Try a new workout

Channel your boredom into a great summer body! Link up with a friend and invite them to do the same live workout with you. Facetime each other for a HIIT or yoga class. Check out some free live-stream workout options here!

4. Cook something together

Facetime each other and take turns teaching each other a how to cook a meal you like, or play it safe with a mug cookie.

5. Get synced up for movie night

Go download the free extension to host Netflix watch parties! You can chat with friends in the sidebar and watch the movie together in sync.
