Public Service Pathway

TJC has six student pathways. These pathways are a roadmap to graduation with a degree or certificate in your field of interest. This blog is part of the pathway series that introduces each student pathway and provides information and guidance on if this might be the best fit for you.

With a career in public service, you can put your compassion for others to work every day. Whether as an elementary school teacher taking the time to help a student struggling to read, or as a firefighter pulling someone from a burning building, you will be helping others in a meaningful and memorable way.

  • Education
  • Fire Protection Technology
  • Government
  • Paralegal
  • Psychology
  • Public Administration
  • Sign Language Interpreting
  • Social Work
  • Sociology 

Within the Public Service professions, you could be doing anything from interpreting an event in sign language to teaching a class full of students, enforcing the law, or educating a community on good health practices.
